Born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Evan met his future wife, from Markdale, while attending the Business Administration course at Algonquin College. He went on to major in accounting and upon completion of College he transferred to Nipissing University to complete his Bachelor of Commerce. Having developed a love for business and accounting Evan entered the CGA program and completed the required courses and work experience to receive his CPA, CGA designation in April of 2016.
He began working at Bowler & Company CPA Professional Corporation shortly after moving to the area in February of 2014. He has since been working as a public accountant and completed CPA Canada’s practitioner’s course and in-depth GST/HST course. Evan has a good knowledge of accounting, corporate, and personal tax with a specialization in the area of GST/HST.

Gerry was born and raised in the Markdale area. His family has been in the region since the late 1840s. Most brick houses in Markdale, built between 1860 and 1915, were built from bricks of the Bowler Brickyard which was located on the East Back line just outside of Markdale.
Gerry graduated as a Chartered Accountant (CA) while employed in the Toronto office of a national accounting firm. He then moved with this firm to Owen Sound where he completed the In-Depth Tax Program. Gerry spent a total of 22 years with the national firm, the last 14 as Tax Partner for the Owen Sound practice.
Bowler & Company CPA Professional Corporation was opened by Gerry in 2002 with one employee. In 2010, he expanded the business by purchasing MT Ashmore/Johnson’s Bookkeeping practices in Dundalk.
Gerry provides a variety of corporate, personal, and estate tax services to Bowler & Company clients. He continues to provide personalized accounting and tax services, as well as personal and business advisory consulting.
In his free time, Gerry is an active member of the Centre Grey Hospital Foundation.

James was raised in Markdale, a community his family has proudly been part of for generations. He graduated with distinction from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2017, completing his Honours Bachelor of Business Administration specializing in Accounting, along with minors in Canadian Studies and Economics. He later returned to Laurier to earn the Graduate Diploma in Accounting through the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics. Following his education, James received his CPA designation in 2020.
James started with Bowler & Company as a co-op student in 2017 and transitioned into a full-time position shortly after. With strong experience in both personal and corporate accounting, James is dedicated to helping clients navigate their unique accounting needs.
Outside of work, you can find James walking his dogs around town with his wife, or watching sports.

Annalisa McMahon
Born and raised in the Shelburne area, Annalisa relocated to the Dundalk/Priceville area 22 years ago.
Annalisa started her career in the financial industry 32 years ago where she held various roles in the banking field and acquired both her Mutual Fund Dealers Association and Canadian Securities Course accreditation.
Working as a Financial Advisor with CIBC during the last 20 years of her career has allowed Annalisa to share her extensive background and knowledge in personal lending, investment planning & various small business needs. Annalisa joined Bowler & Company CPA Professional Corporation full time in February 2019.

Born and raised on a farm in the Holstein area, Cindy relocated to Markdale in 2001, after getting married. She then started her family a few short years later.
Cindy earned her CGA designation in June 1998. She joined Bowler and Company in February 2004, making the firm a 3 person operation, at the time.
Cindy has a strong understanding of Sage/Simply Accounting and QuickBooks to assist clients with any issues they may have, including invoicing, billing, and report generating.
Much of her time and focus is directed at preparing financial statements and tax returns for corporations in a variety of industries, from manufacturing to retail to agricultural.

Debra Hoare
Debra grew up in Badjeros and began her career working at local businesses, including the Badjeros General Store and Dixie’s General Store in Maxwell. In pursuit of a lifestyle change, she and her husband relocated to Feversham to enjoy more space and a workshop.
Debra holds an Advanced Business Administration diploma from Humber College and a certificate in Human Resources Management. Her professional experience spans multiple areas, including Payroll, Administration, Accounting, and Human Resources, with hands-on familiarity with various accounting systems.
Since joining our team, Debra brings a strong commitment to learning and professional growth. She values collaboration and looks forward to contributing her diverse skill set to support our clients and team. No matter how you contact the office - by phone, email or in person, Debra is always ready to greet you with a friendly hello!
Outside of work, Debra enjoys spending time with her family and caring for her five pets.

Gord was born and raised in Markdale and currently lives in Wiarton with his wife of 43 years, Theresa. He is blessed with two grown children and six incredible grandchildren.
Gord received his designation as a Chartered Accountant (CA) in 1977 and has completed the In-Depth Tax Program. He joined Bowler & Company CPA Professional Corporation in 2011 bringing with him over 25 years’ experience with a national accounting firm, as well as more than 10 years as a partner in an Owen Sound accounting firm. Gord has extensive experience in agricultural industries, construction, manufacturing, and many other owner-managed businesses. He offers clients expert and personable advice with respect to business operations and finance, income tax, capital gains, estate planning and much more.
Gord is a current member of over 35 years and past president of the Wiarton and District Lions Club. As a result of his time there, he is a recipient of both the Helen Keller award for outstanding service as well as the Melvin Jones fellowship award, the highest form of recognition to acknowledge an individual’s dedication to humanitarian service.
Gord is also a current member and past president of the Wiarton District Curling club.

Katie Morris
Katie was born and spent her early years in Montreal, QC and moved to Toronto, On in her teens. She worked in downtown Toronto, working her way up to Assistant Controller for a licensed customs house broker/customs service provider and international freight forwarder. Katie started her own business, when her children were born, in order to work from home, and spend additional time with her family. In 2009 Katie and her family moved to Flesherton, On. She became the Secretary of Grey County 4-H when her daughter indicated an interest in showing cows. Katie has more than 20 years of experience with QuickBooks, including participating in the ProAdvisor training, as well as certification in both Quickbooks desktop as well as Quickbooks Online. She believes that a client’s satisfaction is the most important part of her job, whether that be by professionally completing your bookkeeping requirements, or training you to handle it on your own, or just be available if you have any questions.

Renee Kalinowski
Renee grew up in Desboro where she first discovered her passion for accounting during a Grade 11 course that sparked her career aspirations. She later earned a Business Accounting diploma from Georgian College, graduating with a strong foundation in financial principles and business practices.
In May 2023, Renee joined our team and has quickly become a valued contributor. She brings enthusiasm, a commitment to learning, and a strong work ethic to every project she undertakes.
Outside of work, Renee enjoys spending time with family and friends, swimming, and expanding her personal library as an avid reader and book collector.

Katie Wright
After building her career in the GTA and working her way up into senior accounting and management roles, Katie returned to Grey County several years ago to continue doing what she loves — helping organizations thrive through smart financial leadership and operational excellence.
With over 20 years of experience in Accounting and Payroll, Katie combines deep technical expertise with a collaborative, people-first approach. She’s known for her strong communication skills, proactive mindset, and ability to streamline processes that drive results.
A proud Alumni of Sheridan College’s Accounting and Business Management Diploma Program (third-level CPA equivalent), Katie also holds the Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation from the National Payroll Institute.
Her diverse background spans HVAC, custom home building, construction, manufacturing, and property management, where she’s earned a reputation for adaptability, accuracy, a passion for continuous improvement and a positive team spirit.

Prachee Patel
Prachee grew up in Kitchener after moving from India and discovered her interest in accounting early on, drawn to the problem‑solving aspects of the field. She is currently in her second year of the Accounting and Financial Management program at the University of Waterloo and is completing her co‑op term with our team.
Passionate about accounting and taxation, Prachee plans to pursue her CPA designation and is eager to gain hands‑on experience while continuing to grow within the profession.
Outside of academics and work, Prachee enjoys watching movies, binge‑watching TV shows, and playing chess.
